A person that founded a company is called a CEO? or Chairman?

i will be speaking to someone and i just found out he is the founder of the company bu im not sure as to how to refer to him. Help!!!! :)

  1. You don't need to know the title of the person, just ask for "Mr ...." and you will be helped. It's considered unpolite to ask for the CEO or the chairman without stating their names. But it's OK to ask for "Mr ...." without stating their title.

    When you speak to a CEO or chairman, he should be addressed as "sir" not "Mr CEO" / "Mr chairman".

    However, you should know his function in the company because it might be usefull in the conversation with him.


  2. Google the company & the person.  The founder could have any title, including no title.  If in doubt, I would go with Mr. ____

  3. CEO stands for chairman,

    but you dont neccesarily have to be the founder to be a chairman.

    The CEO is just in charge

    id say ur best bet would be to reffer to him by his last name
