What's a good gift to give a guy who enjoys (and teaches) philosophy?

  1. A book about philosophy or logic or a puzzle book like using ability of critical thinking.


  2. something that is personal between the two of you, something that he will treasure.

    Do not over think this, philosophers, mathematicians, biologists and engineers are all people too.  

  3. Give him something that has meaning to you (or both of you), and he'll probably try to figure it out. Don't tell him why you gave him what you did, unless he gives up.. It makes the gift that more exciting.

    what kind of philosopher is he, and what is his standpoint if he has one.

    i would recommend dialectic of enlightenment by adorno and horkeimer
