A piece of regular size paper was inside the vent...

Question

When I went to replace the filter in the vent in our attic, there was a piece of paper there. I took out the filter and the system kicked on and blew further down the vent. We looked where we thought it might be, but it wasn't there. Does this pose a fire hazard. We just bought our house and the paper didn't look like anything we have, so not sure how long it had been in the vent.
