What does a piece of the Berlin Wall represent?

  1. Freedom and the death of dictatorship forced on people in the ex - communist Germany.

    There is but one problem with the piece. The number of pieces sold, with the label "the genuine piece from the Berlin wall" accounts to Gigatons. It looks like that the wall was longer than the famous wall of China. So something is not right.

That it's in pieces emphasis es that the Wall was broken down, no longer exists.  The Wall existed for about 30 years (check exact dates in Wikipedia) and symbolized the entire Cold War - a stand-off between U.S. and European allies (NATO) vs. USSR and its Eastern European satellite states.  That stand-off defined everything in world politics for those 30 years.  The fall of the Wall and of the USSR meant all of world politics could go in new directions.
