  1. Try Hotel des Alpes. t is near the train station and about 5 /6 blocks from the lake.

    Not too expensive

or go this page for a list of hotels in Geneva:

  2. Well, there is a youth hostel as well... (first link)

Otherwise you'll find more on the official homepage of "Geneva tourism".

  3. Sorry, I know one, but expensive " HOTEL DU LAC" Geneve

    Suisse.

  4. it's not clear whether you are looking for a place to stay in Geneva the city, or just around Lake Geneva (aka Lac Leman).  i would suggest staying in a town on the lake, since the trains make it so easy to visit any of the cities/towns along the lake anyway.  there's also something very inviting (for me, at least) to stay in a quaint, little town, where you're more likely to see the "real" Switzerland.  Vevey is a nice town, big enough with stuff to do but still very quiet; it's about 1 hr ride to Geneva, and prices are reasonable.  you can consider Montreux (5-10min from Vevey - to the East), though it's generally a pretty glitzy place where cheap accomodations are hard to find.  there are a whole bunch other small towns perched above Montrex/Vevey in the mountains that can be very attractive options (Glion is a popular site, only about 15min via train down to Montreux).  the big cities like Lausanne (which i love) and Geneva are more expensive, and the more affordable options run out quick.
