Question:

I work offshore on an oilrig in the gulf of mexico. Several plants I have purchased for my office have died (even the cactus).

Someone out here told me the air is too salty out here for most plants to thrive. Does anyone know of a plant that can live in a salty air enviornment?

  1. if you wanted you could try a bottlebrush i have  seen it under saltwater for a few days from the gulf of mexico and not burn one bit.

  2. Get almost any gardening book, there is invariably a section on plants that will thrive is salty conditions, you'll be surprised how mant there is.
