What years are considered to be one's "prime" in baseball? I'm guessing like from earliest at age 24 to at latest age 33?

  1. usually their BEST years fall between the ages of 27 and 32

  2. probably 28-31

  3. i would say 27 to 30

  4. I would think it's late 20's to early 30's for hitters, but pitchers seem to have more longevity. They seem to do well longer into their 30's.

  5. most major leaguers start to decline each year after age 27. This doesn't apply to everyone, but the average major league prime is age 27. There is a chapter dedicated to this in the book Baseball Between the Numbers.

  6. I think age 25 through 35...

  7. I have always heard 29 as an average.
