  1. Report it to the commitee and if they don't haul the greenkeeper over the coals for not mowing the green that day then move to another club!

  2. a. he should walk over to check if it's edible

    b. if it's good stuff eat it to catch a buzz and continue golfing

    c. if it isn't edible or good stuff, quit whining and yank it out of the ground and continue golfing...how hard is it?

  3. I find it quite hilarious, laughs.

  4. A mushroom is a fungus, so any course with mushrooms on the greens (or anywhere else in play) should be considered "crappy".  I would be thoroughly embarrassed if I took a guest out on my home course and found freaking mushrooms growing on the putting surface.

Complain to the pro or shoot the greenskeeper yourself.

  5. get the mushroom the **** out the way or go to a new golf course.

  6. i would assume that you could remove the mushroom....odd that is would be there...mushrooms can pop up over night but i would go ahead and pick it up....mushrooms are natural but the greens are not as they are kept and should be free of any form of debris

  7. This one surprised me. The USGA rule considers a mushroom on the green to be an abnormal ground condition.

    Decision 16-1a/15:

"The player would be justified in discontinuing play and requesting the Committee to remove the mushroom. The Committee should comply.

If such an abnormal condition is a recurring problem on a course, the Committee should make a Local Rule to the effect that mushrooms on the putting green are to be treated as ground under repair."

In a normal (non-tournament) round you won't really have a "committee" on hand. Either remove it yourself (if you can do so without damaging the green), or move the ball away from the mushroom.
