I'm quite certain that they do not get a 3rd shot, instead it becomes the first players turn again.

  1. depends what rules you are playing, lots of pool halls have their own rules, the rule your opponent was playing is two visits or two shot carry. Don't think it is played by anyone serious, more a friends in the pub who aren't very good rule.

If playing for anything more than just fun, always establish what rules you are playing to before you start.

  2. The only exception possibly being if you were playing 2 shot carry, but i think that's unusual for 8 ball (more common in straight pool)

  3. no it's go to the other player.

  4. You are correct David. The shot goes back to the first player. Your own answer is correct and right on cue.
