Question:

A poem about religion & ignorance?

This poem is about religious ignorance and how we all live in our own bubble, not a care for the religous storms that rage around us. This includes all denominations and Atheists. We are all deaf to other opinions and beliefs.

  1. This is neither a question nor a statement as it is not examplified. however,I would like to completely agree with the above . We must know what the other religion is, respect the sentiments of all religious beliefs and try to ensure that no religious sentiments are hurt at any cost.We must learn to live with the religious beliefs of other religions around us.That will be a very happy place to live in.

  2. You preach too much.

Try just describing things. If your daughter can do it successfully, so can you.

I've said my piece about this one before. With or without the visuals and sound effects, this poem still limps its way to an unconvincing finale.

    (Edit)

    OK, enough is enough.

It always surprises me that poets posting offerings on this site ask for "honest critiques", but many of them can't handle it when someone says them nay. The trouble is, sycophants do the aspiring poets no favours at all. Perhaps they're after the ten points for Best Answer, who knows?

May I just say that if you genuinely can't see what's clumsy, and therefore improvable, about such lines as "encompassing your hedge" and "the bubble of our denomination", then further communication between us is pointless.

I won't trouble you again with a comment on your work. You have plenty of admirers already, so this shouldn't bother you.

Incidentally, it's immaterial to me whether you're an Atheist, Buddhist, or a member of the Church of the Second Coming of Slartibartfast. Beliefs and literature have no qualitative connection whatsoever.

Every good wish, and may you find your true voice.

  3. I am always open to other opinions and beliefs,if I wasn't I would spend time on here

  6. A rainy storm of controversy rages around us.  Do we act blindly and retreat into our own confortable place,  or do we enter into the storm as sunshine shines through the clouds and give light where there is doom?
