Driving with lights on in the daytime makes you more visible to oncoming traffic; it is a safety issue, nothing to do with AGW.

There might be a connection after all: people who don't have the smarts to understand AGW would probably not know why it is smart to drive with lights on in the daytime either.

Not really;

the lights run off the alternator, no extra fuel is burned (save perhaps a few molecules)

and the light produced is negligible compared to the sun's power. Also mostly visible light is produced. This is not absorbed (to as high a degree as IR) by greenhouse gases.

Many vehicles made today have daytime running lights...no choice in the matter if you own one.  Fortunately, the Sun is the cause of Earth's latest warming trend, so headlights are clear of any blame.

If you to do some research to find the major reason for global warming.  The major reason is that we are meat eaters.  Pigs, chicken, turkeys, cows, and sheep are a major industry, and I say Industry with a capital I.

Now the meat producers want the most bang for the buck.  Thus instead of allowing them to graze the farmers stuff them full of feed.  They feed is not natural and all they animals out gas.  The mature is co2 and the out gassing is methane.  You do research and you will find that car pollution does not hold a candle to animal excrement and out gassing.

Another problem we have is de-foresting, which is a shameful problem, humans should be ashamed of themselves.

Auto Pollution is low in regards to the overall pollution in the world.  So don't worry about your headlights.
