Please help me answer this, I'm taking the ptcb this saturday and I'm stumped on this question.

The answer choices are the following:

Floxin Otic

Cortisporin Otic Suspension

Tobramycin

Cipro Hc

  1. Be safe, call your pharmacist. I am pretty sure bid means twice a day.


  2. John is right, OU means both eyes so right away you can eliminate the otic drops as they are for the ears. Cipro HC may come in an opthalmic form but I am pretty sure that there is no Tobramycin made just for the ears. You can use eye drops in the ears but you can not use ear drops in the eye.

    Pharmacist for 30 years but I would still look up if Cipro HC comes in an eye drop. Cipro plain does but I am not sure about the HC.

  3. It isn't a good idea to put ear drops (otic) in the eyes, and OU means both eyes.
