I had to reset my computer because it froze and now when it trys to start up it takes me to the safe mode and so on options and when i select any mode it takes me to a blue screen saying unmountable boot volume. Then tells me to resart in safe mode and if it keeps coming back to that screen to disable BIOS memory options such as caching and shadowing. Then has tech information

Stop : (oooooo ooooooo oooooo)

It just keeps coming back to that blue screen and won't go into any kind of safe mode. I need help! I have alot of info that i need today!

  1. yeah i had that like a year ago. and the problem kept reoccuring and eventually every time i turned my laptop on, it always went to that screen and i couldnt get in. in the end, i had to send it back to the company for them to repair it.

  2. i wouold say erase ur comlputer. i have been looking at viruses and i found quite a few like that. plus that also means that ur hard drive is malfunctioning i recommend getting a new one

  3. Unmountable Boot Volume means that your hard drive is failing or has failed.  I would highly recommend getting a new hard drive.  It may be possible to fix it without buying a new hard drive but the same thing would just happen again and your hard drive will become more damaged.  At this point if you replace the hard drive someone with some tech knowledge might be able to salvage some of the stuff off your old hard drive for you with an external enclosure.

If you want to try to fix it then you can try performing a "Repair Install" of Windows, but once again I don't recommend it because the more the hard drive is used the less likely you'll be able to get stuff off it.

    Windows XP Repair Install: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepa...

Search Google if you need Vista instructions.

[edit] FYI, from the information provided I would lean towards this problem being the result of a head crash: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_crash

  4. Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This  problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

  5. This problem can be solved by reinstalling the Windows.

    good luck!

  6. Reflash your BIOS, or reinstall windows.

  7. You probably have the so called "Blue Screen Of Death" and that is a computer virus. I will give you the definition for that virus and then you can decited as to what action to take. (you might need to take it to a computer shop to remove this virus) or maybe someone here might be able to tell you how to remove it. Good Luck I hope that this information below help.

  8. unmountable boot volume = the pc can't read the hard disk. Usually it means that win has been destroyed - all your data has been lost and the only thing left to do is to reinstall; if your unlucky it means that the hard disk itsef has died - buy a new one , replace the damaged one, reinstall.

disable BIOS memory options such as caching and shadowing = enter BIOS and do exactly what is said - do this first.
