  1. sounds like ocd You need to consult a Dr. if you don't want a guess.  We here are not all Dr's.  But we do try to help others.  Research it through yahoo search engine.  Hope you find your answer and get the help you need.

  2. It can be classified as a coping technique you've devised as a way to counter the fear of failure, losing, or weakness.  You've believed that you had powers (essentially your skill in football) which needed to be unleashed, unrestricted, and strengthened; your brain figured out a way to manage gaining the freedom you needed - canceling out 2 people by blinking your eyes while gazing at them.

Okay....so now you're older and have more life experiences behind you, your brain is older and more mature, and reality is a solid concept to you now.  With these developmental changes taking place in your physical body, your mental health must also adapt and change, and become more flexible in order to exist in a more mature physical body.  The decrease in the power to cancel people may be a byproduct of your mental maturity and awareness that the coping strategy is not realistic, or that it is not other people who have (what you perceive to be) an effect on your skills. You are developing into a mature person that must adjust physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  These are all different facets of you that enable you to deal with your environment.

Coping strategies are very important for humans because those who cope well will survive; those who cope poorly will not survive.

Google the keywords "coping strategies" and "coping techniques" to find out more about this topic.  It is ESSENTIAL to have appropriate coping techniques for the events that contribute to you living successfully.
