  1. i got 2 points

  2. I have direct deposit. I have figured out how much my bills are and round up! Then my checks are automatically sent to my checking account. The remaining amount, I figure out the % and have that amount directly deposited into my savings account.

For me, I can't afford cable, internet at home or to go out to eat. So, I try to put at least $5 into my savings account each time I get paid. When my husband is able to find a job, I will be using the direct deposit to the fullest.

If you buy coffee every day, get a coffee maker and make it at home. Take the amount you would have used for coffee or going out for lunch and put it into savings. (This has helped me a LOT)

There are many other tips you can find when you google it. Rounding up the amount for the bills in my check book, even if it's 2 cents. That remaining 2 cents goes into my savings account.

Save all your change and deposit into your savings account at the end of the month. Also, any additional income you get, a friend gives you some money, deposit it!

  3. what i do is i have a checking account and a savings account. when i get paid i deposit it into my checking, and then when i get home i switch a specific amount into my savings to sit there until the bills come in. I do this so i am never late on my bills, and if there is ever a surprise credit card bill or anything, i have some money sitting to the side to take care of it!
