Since I know that Cranberry Juice helps in preventing Urinary Tract Infections, I have drank one.

The juice's name is Cranberry + Ginseng as it says in the label of the can. The ingrediants are:

carbonated water

sugar cranberry juice concentrate

aronia juice concentrate,

citric acid E330

coloring fruit 7 plant extract

vitamin C

preservative (sodium benzoate E211)

ginseng extract

natural cranberry flavor

Please could you guys tell if this is the right juice and will it also prevent bladder infections?

Thanks in advance and God bless...

  1. First, see a doctor to make sure its just a UTI

Most cranberry juice is only about 28% juice - it should say on the label.

If you want to try to prevent urinary tract infections (UTI), try taking cranberry pills which are much more concentrated than juice.

It doesn't prevent UTIs.  It just makes it harder for the bacteria to stick to the bladder wall.   You have to take the pills every day.

And always drink lots of water to flush out any bacteria.

  2. Just look for 100% cranberry juice, you can't go wrong.

  3. Well, I agree with some of the other answers about the "real" cranberry juice. You definately don't need the sugar (aren't you diabetic?), the carbonated water or the ginseng. The Oceanspray cranberry juice cocktail is a good drink. You can always dilute it with water if the taste doesn't suit you. You have to give it some time but if you are diabetic and still having this problem it could be something else. Call your doctor again and go back if you have to. You don't need to be in pain, especially after seeing a doctor. There could be other things going on and if you are diabetic, it can't be good. If the doctor didn't find any signs of infection for a UTI did he check your kidneys too? Check out the web site that is given here in one of the answers. I checked it out and it is a big help.

  4. You should drink straight up Cranberry juice

  5. I see the first 2 ing. are water,& sugar  you might want to go to a health store to get the real cranberry,

    remember sugar is  a nono

  6. OK Just like the ones above me.......100% Cranberry Juice is the best.  The pills work great too!

Here's a website that may help answer any other questions about why cranberry juice is good for you!

I just always have a bottle in the frige. I just love the stuff!

    Good Luck Kiddo!-D

  7. You really need cranberry juice, not anything with carbonated water, etc. Ocean Spray is one of the main brands. It has suggar added though, so you may want to look for a brand that doesn't have added sugar. It's usally mixed with apple or grape juices since cranberries can be tart.

  8. Cranberry juice is EXCELLENT in preventing and helping to treat UTI's and bladder infections.  It's been proven by medical science, so don't worry about any dip that comes on here saying otherwise.

However, I would choose a cranberry juice withOUT added ingredients.  Go for the purest one you can find, with the least amount of sugar added.  Ginseng's okay, but if you're trying to clean out your system, pure cranberyy juice wroks best.

  9. Cranberry juice is very potent, but it can not 'prevent' Urinary Tract Infections, and it can sometimes cause bladder or urinary tract infections if not used responsibly.  The cranberry juice you buy in the grocery store - plain - is about ten times too 'strong' to help you get rid of an infection in your UTI and may cause more infection to spread faster.  For every glass (8 ounces) you drink, you should drink at least 7 more glasses (8 ounces) of WATER.

What you drank was a beverage, not a 'fix all' for UTI.  It's mostly just water with 'carbonation' (bubbles) added, a bit of cranberry concentrate (with most of the 'water' taken out), some other juice (I do not know nor have I ever heard of 'aronia' as a plant, and don't have a CLUE what, if anything, it will do to you).  The rest of the stuff is there for 'show' ... but that ginseng can make you ill in a different way.  Ginseng is 'good for you' but it also increases the way the body takes in BAD cholesterol to what can be very high levels.  Drinking this drink one time is not going to hurt you in any way.  Drinking it daily, or drinking it exclusively, can cause you SERIOUS problems, in your urinary tract and in your veins (where we store ALL of our cholesterol) ... so you'll need to talk to your doctor about the 'safe limit' if you want to use this drink for more than an 'occasional beverage.'  If you want to keep your urinary tract healthy and 'clean' then just drink WATER, up to 64 ounces EVERY DAY ... but you may use that water to make tea, coffee, or other drinks if you don't like the way it tastes 'plain.'  Other than that, if you 'live a healthy lifestyle' you should have few if any urinary tract infections in your life.

  10. Buddy, I think you have tried pure Cranberry Juice with no additives or bought a can of concentrated and made your own.  I don't think this one can help you with your infection.

  11. just plain cranberry juiice but ocean spray works and ya it helps prevent and cure bladder infections

  12. i couldn't be 100% sure but its not a miracle drink but it will contritube to these problems

  13. yes the juice is fine...though i have found that ocean spray original cranberry juice works the best and yes it does help cause i had a bladder infection and the doc told me to dirk lots of cranberry juice and within 5days the bladder infection was gone...and yes it helps prevent them too

  14. Since sugar feeds the bacteria that cause a bladder infection, you should stick to "straight up" cranberry juice. You want to knock it out ASAP, so go for the Cranberry juice with NOTHING else added.

None of the other ingredients, (especially the sodium benzoate, an artificial preservative linked to cancer) do anything to fight the infection.

Drink lots of the pure stuff! It's more expensive than the other, but cheaper than a trip to the doctor!

    Best of luck--

  15. Just get yourself some Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Cocktail, or the generic equivalent. You don't need all that other stuff, especially the ginseng and preservatives.

Cranberry juice is a tried and true prevention for uti's. It is also believed to help prevent kidney stones.

  16. this sounds great for protecting yourself against bladder infections
