After I filled the app. it said that My EFC is 0

what does that mean?! is it different than a pell grant..

  1. It means that your family's gross income is low enough that they can't afford to give you any help.  That will work in your favor though.  You will receive more assistance that way.  Not only do you qualify for more grants, you will also receive a higher amount from those grants.  Unfortunately if your parents get a raise or two your EFC might go up, but for now you should sit back and enjoy it.


  2. Expected Family Contribution - they don't expect that your family will be able to afford any part of your college expenses. It makes you eligible for more grants and fee waivers.
