A question about Guinea Pigs?

I'm not really a fan of guinea pigs but one of my best friends has 3 of them and everytime we clean out her guinea pigs' cage it stinks terribly...and I mean that **** STINKS to point that you could pass out

But anyways when cleaning it out we see these little white worms slithering around and there's a lot of them. They ALWAYS appear whenever we clean out the cage every week. What are these "worms"? Are they bacteria?

One or all of the guinea pigs has worms, that is my best educated answer from what you tell me.  The type of worms I can not say since there is not a picture I can soo, so i can guess that is one of the following: tapeworms, roundworms, pinworms.

symptoms of these worms are: diarrhea, anemia, weight loss and worms or worm like parasites in f***s.

As for curing the guinea pigs they will have to be taken to the vet, where medication can be given to cure this if the problem has not become too severe.

Maggots ar also a probability if the cage is not being cleaned on a regular basis.

GET the worms OUT, there maggots or tapeworms, if the get inside the Guinea Pig they'll kill them!!!!

That is NOT normal! She needs to call a vet.

THat is a very bad sign. Your friend should be cleaning the cage once a week. And I mean takin all the bedding out and then taking it ouside and disenfecting it and cleaning it out with soap. And she should be scooping out the areas they tend to pee and poo in daily. That is unsanitary and cruel to her guinea pigs. Would you like to live in that. She needs to talk to a vet and inquire about her pig's health. PLEASE show her what I have told you

Heartworms only live in the heart.  Thus the name.  LOL!

It's maggots.  Flys lay eggs on p**p.  All kinds of p**p.

If she has maggots she's not cleaning enough.  She should be removing the p**p every single day.  Maggots bring other diseases.  Clean is the only way to go.
