A question about Lost...?

So as we know through out the series of Lost there's been a few appearances of rabbits (the one ben had as a child, the number 15 duo amongst others) Does anybody know the significance of any of these poor lost bunnies?!

It's an allusion to Alice in Wonderland. Damon and Carlton (the executive producers and head writers) have both stated that this work in particular has influenced the show in a great way. In fact, the title of the season 3 finale 'Through the Looking Glass' is a chapter title from the book.
