Question:

A question about Rabbits

My bunny has been sheading much more than usual lately, and I assumed it was because it has been so hot out. But, today I noticed that he has some bald spots on him, not right down to the skin, but more like some one shaved small areas with electric clippers. Other than this he looks and acts and eats perfectly normal.

It may be an old age thing, but I'm not sure how old he is.

Any ideas?

  1. Just in case you might want to take your bunny to a vet it's the best thing for your bunny, even if there isn't anything wrong but its good to be careful.

  2. That happened to my bunny (just above one eye) shortly after I got her from the pet shop and she had fleas!  They are rare in bunnies unless they are around a cat or dog that can give them fleas.  The vet gave me a flea treatment and the problem went away.  It could also be mites, which are more common in bunnies, your vet can fix this for you.  I have never had a particularly old bunny so don't know if they lose fur in old age.  Mites or fleas are often accompanied by sandy/gritty stuff in the fur on the back of the neck/head, so part the hair and have a look.

  3. She may have fur mites or something else going on. Take her a good vet.

im sorry to tell you this...but youre asking the wrong people!

  5. Okay I did it. I just needed to test my electric razor.
