What is the minimum requirement for snow depth and snow to water ratio to ski and snowboard.

  1. Preferably your snow to water ratio is low. That means you have light fluffy powder. When the water ratio gets bigger your snow becomes thicker and more cement like. As for depth of snow as long as there is a base amount that covers rocks and such you are good to go. But try to go where you can get 1-2 feet of fresh powder, preferably the light fluffy type mentioned before. There is no better feeling than riding deep powder. I suggest Utah " The Greatest Snow on Earth"


  2. All you need is a packed base as deep as 3 or 4 inches and u want to have more snow than water, but a little water will keep things fast.
