A question about Yahoo! Music and LaunchCast...help please!?

Question

When I try to play the videos on yahoo music, the popup will come up but it won't ever play any videos, it will just say "Up Next..." and then whatever video I'm trying to watch. When I try to use LaunchCast it will come up, and have a song, but the sound won't play. It's not my speakers because they work with everything else. Is it just my computer, or are other people having this problem? Can someone tell me how to fix it? Thanks!

Bad news.  Your problem description matches that of a  problem encountered by a very rude and frustrated user (not you).  Unfortunately, no one ever figured out a fix. At least you give a much better description.  The other user claimed to have updated to WMP 10.  I doubt if this will fix your problem, but it couldn't hurt to upgrade to Windows Media Player 11.  Maybe report the problem to Yahoo, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to fix anything.  Good luck. :)

Added:

Would you list other players you have on your system or codec packs, e.g., Realplayer, WinDvd, Itunes, Intervideo, WinAmp, Nero, Music Match, YMJ, WMP9,10,11, etc.

Also, are you using IE6 or IE7 and are you on Windows XP SP2, Vista, etc.?

When I read thru WM I read about upgrading codecs and that is all I did.

I will look for that link again- just throwing this out there...

A reliable Launchcaster says to do this:

If I were that user, I would reinstall WMP 10.  Sometimes that fixes the "no sound" problem.  As far as the videos go, I'd delete internet cache and cookies - plus, the WMP reinstall might fix that, too, without doing anything else.
