Okay, so I was wanting to know if the all region DVD players do actually play any DVD. So if I was wanting a DVD which was for US regions only, would the all region DVD player play that in the UK? Do they basically play any DVD or does it also depend on the DVD itself? Thank you

  1. Yes, they do. I have a PS3 and bought a region 1 game, even though my PS3 came from England (Region 2). So it plays all types of games, no matter where they are from. So I suppose your DVD Player does too.

  2. Region Free players will play a DVD from anywhere in the world - regardless of what region it is.

This includes playing US (region 1) DVDs in the UK (region 2) - HOWEVER - different places also use different video standards.  North America and Japan use NTSC for its video, while Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia use PAL.  While some TVs can accept both video formats, if your TV does not, then your DVD player would not just have to be region free, but would also have to be able to convert between NTSC and PAL as needed.

Oppo Digital makes DVD players that region free and capable of converting between NTSC and PAL to meet any TV's requirement.  You can buy from them directly on their website:  http://oppodigital.com
