A question about bearded dragons?

Hi.

I was wondering,

do bearded dragons make good pets?

I no nothing about them.

Where do you get them from?

What do you need to look after them?

bearded dragons are EXCELLENT pets. get them when theyre a baby, (around 2 month old or so) and you can hold them for hours on end. theyre like puppies. they love pets and begin to love you.

you can get them from a typical pet store. makesure the petstore seems clean though.

they mainly come from australia or africa i believe.

you need a 10 gallon tank, heating lights. (theres a da bulb and a night bulb. change it from night to day. simple enough. they need to give off UVB rays.) for baby beardies get a mat instead of sand or gravel because they have a soft belly. they need to be fed live crickets. if you're to scared to feed her live ones, freeze them and theyll eventually die then you can feed them to your dragon. they also need to have their crickets sprinkled with calcium powder so they dont get bone diseases. NEVER feed them superworms or waxworms. superworms can chew through their stomache.  ,sadi know. and with waxworms, sometimes thy cant digest the hard outter shell and get paralized. also sad..

Just to add to answer above: A 10 gallon tank will suit a baby beardie just fine, but when they get older they need at bare minimum a 40 gallon tank.

Bearded dragons can be friendly pets as long as you handle them for at least half an hour a day. They rarely bite or scratch their owners, and are hardy lizards (compared to other reptile pets).

They get to about 18 or so inches long (about half of that being the tail), but babies are usually around 4 to 8 inches long. You can usually find bearded dragons at pet stores, but a lot of pet stores don't take good care of reptile pets.

Don't buy a lizard from a pet store, unless it's Petsmart or Petco which are usually a lot better about seeing to the health of their pets.

bearded dragon's are great pets, you buy them in pet shops. you need a uv light and other light stuff and the cage and the bearded dragon. all up it will cost you 1000 dollars or more. maintnece is medium. you need to clean the cage once a week and bath the bearded dragons. you should get two. you need to feed them four to three times a week.

i recon a snake is better.

they are easy to care for they are on low maitnace, and you need to feed them ionce a week.
