ok so at a red light i heard it saves gas when you coast up to the red light in nuetral and keep it there until its green, and lets say theres ice on the road and you shift to nuetral can you shift back to drive while still moving at 50 mph. Also can you kill youre transmission by reving in nuetral than at the same time shifting to drive?

  1. First off, spell neutral with the E first.

Don't do all that c**p. If there's an emergency you'll need to hightail it out of there. You also might slip and put your car in reverse.

  2. bicycles save gas

  3. ok, yes u can change from neutral to drive and so forth at any speed it wont do nothing to ur transmission. if u rev ur engine on neautral and put it in drive u will burn out which is not good for ur tires... not very good for ur transmission, wont kill it but will def take some life out of it in the long run. as for the 1-3 gears... they are mostly ment for icy roads when u go down hill, they control ur speed like on a manual car, 1 meaning the slowest 3 the fastest. wen ur going down a icy hill and dont want to accelaate a lot put it in first and the car wont speed up, if its 2 slow throw it in 2nd and it will go a little faster and den 3 the fastest.. never throw it from a fast speed to 1st or 2ns definitly can ruin ur transmission and ur engine because its ur engine doing the breaking not ur brakes! . good luck pick me for the best answer :)
