Purchased a tracksuit , it said was in excellent condition it was for my daughter who opened it and then gave the seller good feedback saying great tracksuit thanks.

When i got home and looked at it it is terrible as in totaly washed out and out of shape and the colour has faded i have said this to seller and she said the feedback was good.

I have sent it back over a week ago with a self addressed envelope for the refund but not had nothing back, have sent her e-mail asking if she has recieved it but no answer what should i do next.

A big thank you to all who answer

  1. Ebay can normally override a seller and get the money back, when it was sent back, I hope you made it a recorded delivery otherwise she might say she has not recieved it.

  2. When you contacted the seller asking for a refund, did she say she would refund your money if you returned the merchandise? If you don't have a written agreement from the seller agreeing to refund your money, you have no recourse through eBay. You always have to try to settle any disputes before eBay will get involved. The seller said the feedback was good, so eBay would assume the good feedback meant the buyer was satisfied. Furthermore, when you bid on the item did you read the seller disclaimer carefully? Did it say refunds would be given if the merchandise was not satisfactory? Most sellers today state that you buy "as is" which means no return-no refund.

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt you have any recourse. You have returned the merchandise without the seller's approval or agreement. She doesn't have to acknowledge you and probably won't. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but that's the facts of buying and selling on eBay. You have to REALLY pay attention to what you are bidding on; what the seller says about it and their terms for accepting payment and shipping. Twice in the last 6 months I've been burned by not paying attention, and I've been an eBay buyer for years.

  3. Never leave feedback on ebay until you have receievd your item firstly to check its quality etc.

You have to contact ebay and put in a pispute about the seller as they were not strictly honest in first place though am not sure how you will get on if your duaghter has left positive feedback saying great tracksuit and if on the page where you bought the tracksuit had no returns policy then am afraid it sounds like you will not get your money back.  however ebay will contact seller and put a strike against them or they may have done something like this before to other customers???

Good luck but def contact ebay to complain.

  4. report her to ebay you do this by opening a dispute consle

  5. You should not leave feedback until you have examined the goods and checked that they are as stated on e-bay. If you hear nothing back from her then report her to e-bay. They can mediate in a dispute between buyer and seller.
