Question:

A question about feeding my Betta?

Since I got him(on thursday, today is saturday) I have been feeding him 3-4 pellets twice a day like the container says to do. I would feed him before I leave for work in the morning(8am) and when I get home from work(5:30-6pm). Well, today is Saturday and I didn't wake up until 9:30am and I fed him right away but I am going to leave around 1:00 this afternoon and I won't be home until about 11pm tonight. My question is, should I feed him at 1:00 before I leave or feed him when I get home at 11pm? Does it matter what time he is fed? Is 11pm too late? Is 1pm too early to be fed again since he was fed at 9:30am? Any advice?

  1. He will be fine if you feed it at 11 pm.As long as you keep it's water clean and properly maintained, you won't have any problems. The fish will usually eat whenever you put food in the water. If it is too early then the fish won't eat the food so that is how you will know whether it is too early. I did find on a site that stated Betta fish should be fed once a day though.Hope this is helpful. Here is the site with more info:

  2. Betta should only consume 3-4 pellets a day, not 6-8 pellets. That will cause them constipation. As for your question, betta can survive a whole week without food so don't worry :) Just make sure he/she has a proper set up and he'll/she'll be too entertained to think about food. :)

    Good Luck :)

  3. fish can survive a week without being fed. just feed him when you normally do in the morning, and then when u get home at night at 11pm.
