A question about heaven?

so if you go to heaven when you die do you go there the same age as what you were when you died, for example , my granny died aged 94, but her husband died younger at 50, so if she went up to heaven aged 94 to be runited with her husband, would he still A] reconize her B] find her attractive C] still want to be with her after spending so long apart, or would my grannie get to choose her age.

now say a baby dies, goes to heaven , does the baby stay as a baby or will it grow old in heaven, who looks after it if the parents are still alive, if the parents both die say in there 80's do they have to Bring the child up from a baby in heaven.

this is something i have often wondered about, never quite decided what could happen, what do you think ?

  1. We do not know what age and all, but we can recongnize each other and those who knew us in the earth can also recongnize, but that is not the matter.  We all worship God in one accord and have everlasting peace and joy which we cannot visualize here.

  2. What if your Grandmother had remarried, what would your Grandfather feel like when he has to meet her new husband ?

Anyway that is wandering of into the world of semantics, luckily Heaven is just a part of the mythology of certain religions and is not actually a real place.

  3. According to what I understand we will all be 33 or 34 years old. The age that Jesus was when He died for our sins. Also science has determined that to be the age when our DNA is most perfect. So the baby will be 33 or 34, so will gma and gpa.

  4. according to the Bible this is the heaven:

1 Corinthians 2:9 = But it is written, Eye hath not seen, nr ear heard, neither have entered INTO THE HEART OF MAN, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

  5. There is nothing to perceive in heaven but the glory of god..

  6. No.there is no age in heaven.

  7. tulipzad has it right : St Paul, 1st Corinthians :  "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye ... we shall be changed" (Chap. 15, Verse 51). Changed into what ? All we know or can reasonably believe about our condition in Heaven is that it will be perfection. This is what any believer trusts; and God hasn't provided a showroom model for happy snappers.

One point, tulipzad : I don't think the risen figure of the post-Easter Christ is a completely reliable form. Christ had not ascended at that point and was not in Heaven.

Ramans 11 prompts an intriguing thought : 'There is nothing to perceive in heaven but the glory of god'. This suggests to me that the idea of gender in Heaven is irrelevant. If all there is to perceive is the glory of God, it's hard to see how gender could have any bearing on this. It's also absurd, of course, to think of a gendered God.

  8. When we are in heaven we will have a heavenly body.  It will still be like our earthly body but also different.  Remember when Jesus appeared to the disciples they often did not recognise him at first but then they did.

Also I think that because in heaven all will be perfection, I think even if we die at an old age, we will not have wrinkles and stuff like that in heaven - won't that be wonderful!  Likewise I think babies that die here on earth will be fully grown in heaven.  We will be reunited with Christians in heaven and we will know them.  I don't know whether attraction to our earthly spouse will be an issue or not because we will love all but mostly focus on God.

To answer someone else's question, there will be no marriage in heaven.  This is one thing that we know as this is what Jesus said.

Thinking about what heaven will be like is a good thing to do.  After all that is where we will spend eternity.
