Question:

A question about highway driving...?

I'm currently on a roadtrip and have noticed a very strange thing that some drivers are doing. Whenever I pass them, and get back into the lane they flash their brights once. I'm not passing them like a jackass or cutting them off or anything like that. Just a normal pass going from right lane to left and back to right again. What does this mean?

  1. Means nothing.  It means the driver is a control freak and has to have the last "word".

    Good Luck...

  2. They are flashing their lights to let you know that it is safe for you to get back into the lane that they are in.  Truck drivers do this all the time to let other drivers that are passing the truck that it is clear to change back to the original lane.

  3. Theyre telling you that they consider you crossed back into their lane too close to them. There is a possibility that youre allowing your outside wheel to drop off the tar and spray them with debris when you cross back over.

  4. Some people do that to let you know it is okay to come back to the right lane. It bugs me to no end, especially if their lights need adjusted, or they have those new 'blue' headlights.

Some people are freaked out if you get back in the right lane before you are a mile past them too.
