Is it hard wearing the full Islamic clothing like the hi-gab when looking for work or taking an airplane after 9/11? Things like that. And if you don't wear it why?

  1. I do wear full Islamic clothing and wear the hijab and i don't think it's hard at all.. I really don't care what others think because this is my religion and i am proud to be a muslim.. Work does not matter at all, but i know some people are not allowed to wear the hijab at the workplace.. At the airport they search our luggage's and even us but who cares, it's not like i have a bomb or something like that on me.. ok

    Hope this answers your question..

  2. well for me i began wearing hijab  a week after i converted.that same week i got a job at a kiosk at the airport behind security in front of departing gates. never did anyone mention my hijab in a negative way. i had lots of people interested in my beliefs and were nothing but kind to me. i was pregnant then and since quit my job there to be a stay at home mom. i recently had my second child 14 months after the first one was born. so i wont be returning to work now. but i have studied more now about the face veil and have begun wearing it. my first day outside was last week . i had my 2 babies in their stroller and walked down the main street about a 45 minute walk to get vegies. now i am an all american white country girl but you cant tell with full hijab covering the face also, people screamed out windows at me, the worst i was called was al qaida. most all men yelled at me .a few women laughed but they were wearing next to nothing so i think they felt a little ashamed with their virgin mary bracelets and cross necklace to go with tight jeans. i live in boston so there are alot of muslim women but not alot of niqab women. but among american converts  niqab is becomming more popular as we seek a more perfect modesty. i will get used to wearing niqab, it didnt make me mad that those people called me those things but it made me mad that they were ignorant enough to say it in front of my children. .. i will be travling to see in inlaws in a few months so ill be taking an airline but seriously , it is a piece of cake so many women do it all the time, if they need to identify you you go behind a screen lift your veil and they check id. simple. you learn to live with what people throw at you and relise every bad thought or word that comes from those people is a good deed in your book. so i live with it and think of only the hereafter as my reward for my struggles in this life inshallah.

  3. I've worked many jobs and have been on many flights wearing HIJAB. you have to be confident in yourself and know fully why you are covering.  if you are just doing it because people expect you to you will feel uncomfortable and unsure.

  4. ugh how ignorant! it is not called islamic clothing. Those clothes are CULTURAL not religious. It is MIDDLE EASTERN not Islamic. There are MANY muslim girls and women who DO NOT dress like that and they dress like Americans and Europeans.

Turkey, for example, is a modern westernized muslim country where most of the women dress in w/e they want!

  5. I don't wear it because I don't think it is necessary.

I think the verse that is so often used to make hijab sound compulsory is taken out of context, and the idea that women must dress modestly is the most important idea.

If I thought for a moment that it WAS compulsory, then I would wear it in a heartbeat.  I don't do things for the sake of my own convenience.

If you YouTube this subject, you'll get first hand accounts of women who wear hijab and what it is like. I suspect that it is hard if you're not used to it, more so if you are living in a non-Muslim country.

I think I probably would not have gotten my job if I was wearing hijab.

  6. I think It is hard sometimes but  the more you hold your faith and obay Allah the mor you get  ajir from Allah its very good

  7. no wearing a hijab isnt hard. it IS compulsary for a women to wear hijab. and yea some people do look at me but its alright because im a muslim and i want everyone to know im a muslim and that im not ashamed of islam being my religion. i never saw anyone look at me as if i was a terorist when i got on a plane.

  8. It's called a hijab n nope lol but i know alot of people that feel this way when they're wearing a hijab or look for jobs.
