My sister is 38 weeks pregnant. On Monday whilst we were out she started spotting. She started to develop pain in her stomach so we rang her midwife, who advised us to go to the hospital. So when they examined her they said that her cervix was "ripe" and that she was 1cm dialated. They put her on the machine that measures contractions, I don't know much about it but they said that she was contracting regularly & I don't know what the contraction number means but it was up to around 50 on the scale. They advised her to go home and rest up and told her she may be back that night or Tuesday. The doctor said that it was definatly too strong to be Braxton Hicks and that it was definatly early labour - so that was Monday........ and there are no further developments. What's happening!?
