A question about ladyboys in Thailand ?

The first time I came to Thailand was also the first time I came to an Asian country. The thing that surprised me the most were the ladyboys : they are everywhere !

I was surprised about how many they are and how much they are accepted by the Thai society.

What do you think about it ?

And what do you think about them ?

Please feel free to argue.

  1. I was also suprised by too many ladyboys in Thailand. Some are beautiful like real women, especially Thai-chinese who usually have smaller builds and whiter skins than native Thai ladyboys.

I think they entertains foreigners a lot.

So I like to see them dressing up and dancing on a stage.

Sometimes (often?), they are more beautiful than real women, lol.

  2. Honestly, when I went to Thailand in 1985,I never met even one.  So , I think, if they exist to the extent they do now, it is because of all the perverted westerners coming to look for them.

I have no problem with them, and I even feel they are a catalyst bringing the sexes together.

  3. I don't mind it if a Lady Boy (or Katooey) is minding their own business and not bothering me-  but that's hardly ever the case.  Rude, and somewhat obnoxious, the Thai lady boys are overly agressive- as far as to run up to you and grab your arm while you're walking down the street.

Thais are accepting to the lady boys partly because of their Buddhist belief.  Another factor could be that it's quite normal to see trannies in other Asian countries too.

  4. I think it is because Thai people are so tollerant that effeminate boys are allowed to express them selves the way they want.

I am a part time teacher in N.E, Thailand, and although all the boys wear a uniform and have regulation type haircut's some of them wear red lip gloss and eye shadow,They don't get hasseled about it.

In some places there are special toilet blocks, for the boys that feel uncomfortable in the male toilets and the girls feel uncomfortable about these boys using the girls toilet ,there is a third door for the "Lady boys".

However from talking to a Thai teacher just today, He expressed his oppinion that they are a problem, a disrupting influence in the class room.

  5. I must have been in a different country on my last two visits to Thailand than the one you describe. I lived in Silom, and regularly went to the g*y-bars, but did not see lady boys everywhere. Maybe you come from a part of the world where there are NO effeminate men, and therefor you think the few 'lady boys' that you saw constitute a lot.

Thai society is Buddhist, and they tend not to be as judgmental as Christian and Islamic societies.

  6. I have no problem with them.  Thais seem to have the right outlook on them.

I would love to see a White Seal in a dress and high heels.

  7. The truth is all Thai men are Lady Boy. We all turned during the night wearing s**y dresses and high heels.

You should too. Being in Rome...

  8. Live and let live.

  9. A lot of people understand very little about what life is like for 'ladyboys'. Many people think it's just some sort of perversion but what they don't get is that there are little boys who are born and grow up feeling completely female (there's also girls who grow up feeling male). A mom once told a story of her 3 year old son trying to cut his p***s off with fingernail clippers. When she asked him why he responded that it wasn't his. Not surprisingly he grew up to be a ladyboy.

If you ever actually have a sincere conversation with a ladyboy about what life has been like for them growing up you'll realize just how hard, and sad it can be for them. Beyond the cruelness that they suffer from ignorant people, the hormone therapy and they physical transformation is very difficult. Not to mention what the ones who have the surgery have to endure. Surely, no one would choose to put themselves through that just for fun.

  10. I had no problem with them...
