Question:

A question about looking up dreams?

I've been interested in looking up my dreams lately. But I'm confused about something- say I was watching tv really late one night and I had a dream about a tv...does the tv really mean anything in the dream? I just dreamed about it because I was watching it before I went to sleep.

  1. Television

To dream that you are watching television, represents your brain, mind and its flowing thoughts. It shows how you are receiving, integrating, and expressing your ideas/thoughts. The programs you dream of watching is an objective view of the things that are in your mind.

And I think it should really mean something, whether or not you were watching TV before then :D

  2. Sigmund Freud believed that our dreams have two types of content: manifest, which is the typical everyday things we do or encounter, such as seeing a television in your dream, and then latent content, which is the underlying meaning of everything. So if you have a dream that you were watching tv, that is the manifest content, but if you have a dream that you are watching something specific, that represents something that you want to see or do or something that is going on in your life- what your dream is really about.

  3. Sometimes the physical things that are going on around you fit perfectly into your dreams.

If you fall asleep and The Golden Girls is on and you dream you too are a Golden Girl, discount that dream.

If you fall asleep having eaten too much or drank too much, ignore that dream too.

I've attached a link to a dream about understanding your dreams and it has a link to a good dream dictionary.

    Best of luck to you!!!
