so i live with my grandparents and they watch those tv channels like tcm that show black and white movies

and ive noticed that most of them have a great plot, but the acting kinda leaves me turned off to them

i mean almost any black and white movie ive seen has a man with a deep, emotionless voice and all the women have about the same personality as well

but most of todays movies lack in a good plot but there are some great actors in our era

anyone else noticed this??

  1. Ya well back when there were black and white movies they kind of had those actors for a reason.. I think they wanted certain people with strong voices after they passed the silent era. I love the plots to many old movies.

  2. BAck then, they just wanted to get the plot out pretty much with not the best actors. These days they honestly just feed on what is most popular making the plots turn out bad.

  3. I don't think you're being far even if I am a bit biased. Back then, movies had style. So did the actors and actresses and they sure took a lot more time, especially with their A list films than they do now. Plus, you had REAL STARS not these spoiled, snotty little wannabes who seem to have nothing better to do than display themselves and their messy personal lives all over the media. Was the Star Factory a carefully orchestrated and choreographed publicity machine that fed stories to the papers. The studio system had distinct styles. You knew without hearing the lion roar that you were going to see a MGM film because of the stars in the film same at Warner's and all the other studios. And they were meticulous and clever(they had to be to get around the censors)Give em another chance. Take a look at TCM's line up again and tell me that they still make fims like that because they don't
