  1. its probably something that happens whileteh guppies grow up

look it up on google to find out more

  2. Your guppIES are fine. It happened to mine:)

  3. My current female guppy who is pregnant has a split through her tail fin.  I had another guppy who was almost exactly the same size but except she was red and i put her in a tank that wasn't cycled and she lost her tail fin really fast, she looked horrible but I think thats just because the tank wasn't fully cycled.  She ended up dying :(

But your fish should be fine if it is in a tank that is cycled.

  4. its natural

  5. no its not it could be other fish like neon tetras nibbling on there tails if you have them or your fish may have fin rot an easily curable disease or maybe they are rough with each other and bite each others tails to try to make them mate(if they are mix of male and female)

  6. What other kind of fish do you have in your tank?

    It's probably just natural...

It happens to my guppies sometimes as well.

    Hope this helps!

    Good luck!

(EDIT) Just make sure you test your water, as this may also be ammonia poisoning.

  7. Could be fin rot?  Go to your local aquarium store or pet store and ask for medication for fin rot.   You just add it to the water and it should help.

  8. It is most likely not the hideouts or plants.

Split, torn or freyed tails are usually the result of fighting or illness. A common thing is ammonia poisoning. Have you tested the water lately?
