Question:

A question about problem children ?

When I was about 12, I was going through a rebellious stage, and my mom threatened to send me away to a home for kids whose parents don't want them anymore. She said that over there the kids would fight all day long and the guards would place bets on who'd win, that the older teens would rape the younger kids, that she supposedly knew someone's kid who was killed for his tennis shoes, and that the guards molest the young kids and wouldn't feed them if they refused. Of course, this scared the p**s out of me, especially when if I disobeyed her she'd "Gee, looks like someone wants to suck d*ck for his meals!"

Needless to say, I now know those stories were far fetched, now that I'm an adult...but what I really would like to know is--Are there really homes that parents put their kids in if they don't want them anymore? And if so, doesn't that say a lot about the parent, namely them being too lazy to do their job--so they dump the problem off on the public like an untrained puppy that won't stop wetting the rug...and expect the taxpayers to foot the bill?!?

  1. Yes. It's called putting your kid up for adoption, jail, or a military school.

  2. You poor thing. How could a parent be so cruel. I'm sorry that your mum wasn't nice, and I  hope that you can find friendship with her now you're older.

Here in the UK we have state run boarding schools for pretty much the opposite reason, so that children who are having a tough time at home can be allowed to be educated in a (hopefully) nurturing environment

  3. that was a horibul thing for ur mum 2 raise u on there is foster homes wich a child can b placed in if the parents feel like they cant look after there chilren but i dont think any of them do this 2 kids

  4. besides an orphanage, nope.

Although they probably could have you placed in a foster home, but that would be the result of an investigation which proved that your parents were negligent.
