A question about restrictions on liquids on flights?

i've heard that I can only take liquids of 100ml/g or less on international flights. Is this only for on board luggage that is used whilst on the flight, or is it also for luggage that is stored away. I'm a bit confused..

  1. you can put liquids such as toiletries in your checked in luggage (stored away) , but if you want to take them in your hand luggage then yes they have to be in 100ml bottles and see through and in a see through plastic bag , if its a drink you want just wait til your past check in and buy one from shops as threy wont let u take it past
