  1. simple answer, network cards 15-20.00 each, and a router 40.00 or so.  Network cables. 10-20.00

Network cards and software might have come with your pc.

Go to a local PC repair store and tell them I have internet DSL,  I want to rig a laptop and a desktop to share one connection. Hook me up.

    or google installing a router

or google Sharing an internet connection.

It's not real hard, but can get technical if you don't do it right.

Sometimes it takes some time fiddling with it.

If you got like 100.00 to blow have a friend that is PC savvy do it.

I've hooked up stuff for friends like this for free (if it was a woman) or up to 75.00 (if it was a guy).

for family, i set this up for free.

  2. To connect two computer use one RJ45 cross cable and connect it to lan port of both the computer. then connect inter net cable in proper port(i.e USB). after that u need to share internet connection. In this way u can use internet on both of your computer without using any hub or switch.

  3. hello you need a router.  the best router ive used so far is the linksys wrt54g which is cheap and very reliable.  You will also need a wifi card for the laptop if it dosnt have a built in wifi card but most computers from the last 3 years have it built in. then connect the pc to the linksys or other router via a ethernet cable and put in the setup cd and put A WPA PASSWORD NOT WEP!! as most people have because it can be hacked in seconds. Then you will have wifi on the laptop and wired on the desktop.
