Hi, I have schengen visa issued by german embassy in june 2005 and valid until june 2008 and it is type C with MULT number of entries. I visited germany more than three times with this visa and the last time was in july 2007. The question is that can use the same visa to travel to Spain directly from my country (Dubai) without going to germany first? In addtion i want to tell you that i will go to Spain in Feb 2008 for 4 days and at this time my visa will be valid just for 4 months sine it will expire in June 2008. Is 4 months validity OK or there should be a minimum validation of the visa?

  1. do know that if you received a visa from a country in Europe, it is an invitation to enter that country, your port of entry has to be done trough that country, afterwards, you may travel in the schengen zone without problems, since your visa was stamped in your passport, and entry stamp as well.

if you had a visa, lets say for Germany, but you would enter France instead? you may see yourself refused entry, too many people have used schengen  visa received from other countries to fraud and immigrate to others countries,

the validity of the visa in your passport is valid until the date of expiration apposed in your passport, so? no problems.

  2. No problem with going to Spain on the visa - you have already complied with the original visa requirements.  As for the validity period, the visa is valid for travel up to the day it expires, so again, no problem for your trip in February '08.

Edit:  Do not be confused by the one response.  You are allowed to use your existing visa to go to Spain. As I already mentioned, you have already complied with the Schengen visa issue/entry requirements.

  3. You can already travel to Spain because you already used it in travelling to Germany for which you applied for the visa.

  4. You should have no problem. You can enter and leave the EU from any point.

From 1 Jan you can also visit 9 of the new eastern european countries.

  5. You can travel directly to Spain, as it is a Schengen signatory state.
