Question:

A question about selling on Ebay?

I'm selling an RC helicopter on Ebay. I started the bidding off at $49.99, but I have a hidden $189.99 reserve amount. It is fairly new and I didn't want to go too low, as it was originally purchased at $300 and had very little use and has tons of extra parts and stuff with it. So, I'm taking a voluntary loss of money already, to sell it.

If I have my reserve amount set for $189.99 and someone bids up to a slightly lower amount...like $160 or something, will Ebay let me go in and lower my reserve to just a little about the last bid amount so that the next person who bids a little more will have the winning bid? Or is that against Ebay rules to do?

I don't want to under-sell it by putting too low of a reserve amount. I know it's worth around my reserve amount, but wondering if someone will actually bid that amount at the end of the auction. 5 people are 'watching' it, but no one has bid as of yet. Should I lower the reserve amount before anyone bids, or will it let me afterwards?

  1. cant chanhe reserve price, need to end listing and re-list if you want to make changes like that.  also, cant end auction without selling within 12 hours of auction end.
