Question:

A question about the Aesop fables?

I'm writing an essay for my English class about how fathers are so often left out of children's books. Now I'm not asking for your opinion on that. Instead I think I can make a pretty good argument with the with the Aesop fables. But I have to know, were parents ever main characters in the stories? Or was it mostly inanimate objects personified? ie: the sun and the wind

  1. From the ones I have read, it is usually animals that are the characters, rather than humans (including human parents). But perhaps there is one I missed. I think he used animals while teaching about "human" nature to avoid racism and political groups, which was very smart. Plus, the kids that he was trying to teach would be more interested in talking hares than boring old humans.

So, I can't think of one that is about humans (maybe there was one in the background).

    Good luck.
