Hi,

Do you know if the Pope has a passport to visit different countries? If so, does he also need a visa to visit certain countries?

Let me know.

  1. I don't know for certain, but I believe as a Head of State he would travel on a Diplomatic Passport.  That would mean that he would need a Diplomatic Visa, for countries requiring a visa for entry.

The Vatican only issues 2 kinds of passports - Diplomatic & Service.

  2. Pope Benedict XVI has two passports.

The Pope was allowed to keep his German passport: http://goliath.ecnext.com/comsite5/bin/p...

The Vatican issues its own passports and the pope is always given the privilege of 'Passport No.1', which is reissued with the same number for every successive pontiff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passport

As a head of state, the Pope really needs neither a passport nor a visa.

    With love in Christ.

  3. Vatican city is acknowledge as a country of it's own.

Pope is the head of the state and as the Head of the state, he normally can visit another country without visa, just acknowledgement from the government he's visiting.

Coming from German, I believe the Pope also hold a German passport too.
