A pyramid of biomass is a measure of

a. the number of trophic levels.

b. the energy output of each trophic level.

c. the total weight of the organisms in each trophic level

  1. i am not sure if my answer will help, however i hope you can find the answer once you read mine...

    is a general principle that the further removed a trophic level is from its source (detritus or producer), the less biomass it will contain (biomass here would refer to the combined weight of all the organisms in the trophic level).

    The reduction can occurs for different reason...

    1.not everything in the lower levels gets eaten

    2.not everything that is eaten is digested

    3.energy is always being lost as heat

    This is all i know about the subject... i hope it helps you in some way...
