A question about the new warhammer 40 rules?

it says in older codexes Barrage weapons are labled with a G in fornt of its range does this mean those no longer count as guess ranged weapons but as Barrage weapons

basically what im asking is do you have to guess range with these weapons

No.  They are barrage weapons now.  No more guessing.

The new rules mean that all Blast and Ordnance weapons don't roll to hit but scatter a random distance which is reduced by the firer's BS.  So there's no need to guess range anymore and the "G" can be ignored.

This is an exception to the general principle that Codex over-rides rulebook because it is a blanket change that removes the principle behind Guess range weapons - i.e. that they were monstrously powerful if too accurate.
