i know that the rings are found in trees because of their vascular tissues growing each year

i also know that dicotyledons grow with vascular bundles arranged rather then random and end up in rings.

but is there such thing as a monocotyledon tree? so that when you cut the trunk acrossways you wouldnt see rings?

  1. Monocot plants have a different vascular system than that of the dicots. In dicots vascular tissue is arranged in a ring which is not the case in monocots. Therefore no growh rings are seen in monocot trees.

  2. monocot trees don't exist... most monocots bloom and then die. to answer your question no. it is not possible.

  3. The palm tree in its varieties is the best known monocot tree. When you cut through the trunk there are no rings visible just the cut ends of the vascular vessels, a bit rougher than dicot trees.
