A question about warrants!?

My fiance has never had a speeding ticket, but a while back before he got his drivers license he was driving me into work cause i was pregnant and i wasnt feeling entirely good to drive cause i felt like i wanted to vomit but i was a work alcoholic and refused to miss out on work

Anyways, the speed limit was 45 and i believe my man went about 50-55, due to me telling him to hurry up so i am at fault for him speeding.

We got pulled over by a highway trooper, i believe there called, and he gave him a ticket that equaled out to 900 dollars, which wasnt a big thing cause i had a job to pay it off.

Well we got right near the last payment of 100.00 dollars but i ended up getting let go from my job and the money my man had coming in that month went to our car insurance and fixing some parts that badly needed replacing and we ended up not being able to pay the last 100.00.

--Someone told my man that if you dont make that payment on time, and i think they even told us at the place where we pay that if its not paid on time it goes into a warrant.

----MY Question is, will the payment process start all over from scratch plus some extra due to the fact that the last payment was not made on time making it a warrant. Also can i go and pay it for him or is the only option for him to have to turn himself in and i pay to get him out? Cause he said he'd rather do that to turn himself in but once we save up the money so as soon as he turns himself in a get him out but if there is a possibility that i can pay it off that would be easier but i know when it comes to the law nothing is easy.

IM not sure if it depends on different states whether the regulations on that are different, if anyone knows where i can find out this information or if anyone has any idea for the state of texas or san antonio that would help a whole lot.
