Why does it seem very loud at night when u shout but not as loud during the day?

because everything else is quieter so it is easier to hear yourself shouting (i.e. lack of background noise)

With most peple sleeping.noise level in your area will be very less so even a small sound makes bigger noise.

There will be less trafic,less human activities of all kinds at night.

atmospheric temperature inversion, allowing less of the sound wave to escape upwards...

The air is cooler at night - therefore denser. The denser air allows sound to travel faster and have more intensity .

There is usually more ambient noise from traffic, industry, people etc to drown the shout during the day than there is at night.

well sound is the same  --  sort of.

when you're standing in a crowd, someone has to talk loud near your ear to be heard.

the same volume (loudness) at night in the house is not needed, and sounds really loud.

2 things are happening.

--  your brain closes out background noise, and only hears what exceeds that level.

--  when there's no background noise, then any noise sounds loud.
