This guy is kidding himself if he thinks he stands a chance against GSP,, This time GSP would finnish him instead of it going to decision, he needs to stay lightweight FOREVER if he wants a carreer in MMA.......WAR GSP!!!!

  1. your right

  2. Go back to trolling Sherdog

  3. GSP may have grown more as a fighter....

but BJ has always been a fighter.  He's a grappler who can bang on his feet.  I don't think BJ needs much growing to do in the fighting department.

I think it's just more in the responsibility department.

Oh, and usualy when BJ says he'll do something, he actually does it pretty well. So, what happens when BJ becomes dedicated like he says he is.

  4. Well you didn't see the first fight they had did you?  It was a spilt decision and GSP only won by lay and pray. GSP did nothing on the ground in BJ's rubber guard.  BJ's stuffed sherk's take downs and I think he'd do the same to GSP next time.

Penn striking is so much better.

  5. GSP would go through penn like a bulldozer, bj would take a break from the sport after that fight.... he would get annihilated

  6. I think GSP is too strong for BJ, but there is essentially no advantage either way in BJJ (BJ if any). I think that this fight would be closer than you think, just as long as BJ is serious and trains hard. BJ is a better natural fighter that just has tremendous instincts and flexibility.

I agree with you that GSP should win this fight if it ever happens. There is always the possibility that BJ could repeat his Matt Hughes victory and that is proof that the physically weaker fighter can win.

  7. I think the question may be even bigger than these two fighters.  MMA is so popular and so professional now that we haven't really seen bar room brawlers in the ring in the last five years.  It's because the margins of professional sport are drawing so tight.

I think the same persists with fighters holding titles in multiple weight divisions.  There are thousands of MMA dojos in the U.S., Japan, Brazil, Europe, and other places.  I think during the evolution of the sport a smaller guy could beat a bigger guy, but everybody has technique now.  If fighters expend energy trying to move between weight classes, well that's energy that should've been spent in fight preparation and there are 50 other men that did prepare for fighting with every last drop of their energy.

BJ trains with some awfully big, tough men, but if he wants to keep his head on, he should stay out of the ring with GSP.
