When it was inserted in your vaginal, did you start to have s*x right away or wait for how long?

I'm getting one next week.

  1. well I have an IUD , not mirena but a copper one.

No they usually tell you to wait 2 weeks for s*x.  You will have spotting afterwards and you don't want to have s*x because it might introduce " germs" into any open areas that might have been knicked during insertion.   Trust me, wait if they tell you too, you don't want a nasty infection.

A word of advice.. take some motrin before hand for the pain ( and it will be painful for a few a bit  while they are putting it in but wont' last long) DO not take aspirin, it will make you bleed more.

  2. Yes you can have s*x right away.I waited a day or so,I was just too tired & busy.My husband siad that he thought he felt something the first time we did anything, but I think that it was all in his head.Everytime afterwards it was fine and he felt nothing.

  3. You can have s*x right away. However you may want to reconsider getting the IUD put in. I had one after my son was born and I loved it. But then after a couple years, it started to fall out and a terrible odor was coming from it. So the doctor removed it and put a new one in. I had nothing but problems with the second one! From day one I had terrible cramping, and then a horrible pain in my lower back. It hurt so badly that I had a hard time standing up and sitting down. This went on for a month and a half. I called the doctor after a week or so and she told me that it would go away, it never did. I had it removed and right away my back did not hurt anymore.

  4. I had mine inserted 6 weeks ago.  My doc told me it went into affect immediately but I waited about 3 days before having s*x so the strings could get adjusted.  My man didn't feel it at all and I didn't either, everything went fine!  Good luck!  by the way,,, consider taking an ibuprofin or a motrin before you get it because it kinda hurts getting it inserted, it feels like cramps.

  5. I had Mirena after my last child. My husband and I were able to get busy (so to speak) right away. However it is a little uncomfortable getting it placed and then you have to make sure they place it correctly. You'll have to check it every so often to make sure it is still in place. And another warning I had mine removed because once it was placed I had this pain in my thigh and leg that never went away until it was removed. I think they hit a nerve or something. t also turns out that my previous OB had put it in incorrectly and was lucky I did not end up pregnant. So make sure you tell your doctor if you have any discomfort of any type.
