The whole process before you go to basic training is a while so you have time to think, Have you ever felt like you were a little hesitant to go to the marines before you even got to bootcamp?

  1. If you are thinking of bailing before you leave you can. Joining the military is s huge deal, and the freaking own your life and can make you do anything or go anywhere. These days you will get sent to Iraq/Afghanistan. Make sure you really want to join, give it a lot of thought and don't let anyone pressure you, even your recruiter.

You have up to the time right before you get on the plane or bus to bail out. There is nothing anyone can do to you after that if you do, so don't listen. You can probably even bail once you arrive to wherever they take you, just don't let them pick you up. Here is more details, just think about what you are doing.

  2. I think very few people dont second guess themselves about joining the hardest military branch.  I was scared shitless when I went to basic.. I dont think i stopped being scared until i finished the crucible. Once you hit that point, things get much better for you.

I am no longer active duty (2004) , but the thought still  applies.

  3. Nope, I knew since I was 10 that I wanted to serve my Country as a Marine.
